FAQ section
A developmental edit is the first kind of editing you will need after finishing your draft. Developmental editing is what you will get to be sure that the story and structure are strong and are working as a whole. This helps ensure the message you share comes across in the clearest and most powerful way.
If you need direction and guidance through the writing process, consider a writing mentorship with me.
Developmental editing is different from copyediting, which is one of the last kinds of edits you will need after your story is strong and the writing process is finished. A copyeditor fixes spelling and grammatical mistakes. I do not offer copyediting.
First, you will contact me through this form to inform me about your project and goals. I will email you a link to fill out the client questionnaire. If you choose to move forward with me, I will send your invoice and editorial contract. I will then work on and deliver your manuscript within the time frame we have agreed on.
We will schedule a meeting to review everything if you want to discuss any questions about the editorial feedback.
Please submit your manuscript as a double-spaced Word document in size 12 font in Times New Roman with one-inch margins. In the heading, please include your last name, title, and page number.
I use Microsoft Word for all of my editing services. I use the in-line comments to provide detailed feedback along with a thorough editorial letter.
